transit valenciaPalma Tools has participated in the implementation of Google Transit in Valencia. This planning tool for metropolitan public transport routes, included as a feature of Google Maps, geo-locates and integrates 2,300 public transport stops including the EMT, Metro Valencia and Metrobus networks, which have 170 million users.

Palma Tools has been working for years on projects aimed at improving payment systems and urban mobility systems for the Valencia Metropolitan Mobility Agency, Valencia Municipal Transport Company (EMT) and Valencia Metro, and in this joint initiative with Google it has collaborated in the development and implementation of the information required to start up Google Transit in Valencia.

Although the service was inaugurated last August in Oviedo, Valencia is the first city in Spain to use this tool developed by the search engine that broadens the service by including the whole Metro network and other features that can be accessed both by Internet and cell phone. Google Transit presents users with information on the different public transport options for the trip they are interested in, providing timetables, routes and  companies that offer the service. The tool also indicates the total time it takes to walk to the stop or transport terminal, waiting times, changes and travelling time for routes throughout Valencia. All you have to do is enter the start address and destination address and the options will be displayed on the screen so that you can plan your journey.
