Contactless card Implantation in Catalonia Transport Consortium
Palma Tools develops, from 2009, the project of Contactless Cards for Catalonia public transport. The new system designed by Palma Tools has already been implanted in Lleida, Tarragona and Girona. This important improvement allows that the exchange of intermodal transport in Catalonia should be increasingly dynamic, with the aim to reduce in a very notable way the big agglomerations that take place, especially, in rush hours. Thanks to the Contactless Cards, which incorporate a chip that registers automatically the accesses, the users can accede to different means of public transport (surroundings, buses, meter) without need to insert the card, thus, the accesses and exits can be much more fluid.
